The Room: beginnings…
Grace Ahuoma Ukeni was born in Rivers State, Nigeria in 1999. She grew up in a close-knit family. She started telling stories at the age of 12.
At 14, she wrote her first collection of short stories titled Collection of Short Stories. The pieces of what’s left of it are seated in her childhood drawer.
She attended a boarding school on the outskirts of Port Harcourt, which meant she lived among different age groups for six years.
What started as a joke when she started telling students stories from her dorm bunk is now the foundation of what you’re reading today…
The Kitchen: creation…
That didn’t happen for her for another decade because she treated writing as a hobby to play with. She questioned whether the talent of storytelling was something worth sharing until she started her first blog.
The blog started from a big question: How to write a book typed into her browser. She decided to write a book, but didn’t know where to start. In her usual fashion of wide curiosity, she began asking all these questions, which led to the creation of her first writing blog, Romomaseries, now WritingThrillz, in 2019.
The Bus: transit…
She moved to Ghana to study Information Technology, where she graduated at the top of her class with honours, earning a Bachelor’s degree from Knutsford University College. Afterwards, her journey as a Data Analyst began.
She wrote several stories and books, but that was just the beginning of her storytelling journey. On her return to Nigeria, she enrolled into Ebony Life Creative Academy to study The Art of Screenwriting. Since then, she has crafted several screenplays that are in different stages of production.
The Cafe: collaboration…
For a long time, Grace described herself as a frozen onion; she stayed tucked inside herself until she was peeled open.
The idea of community was a strange concept as a shy, introverted kid. This affected how she showed up as an excellent queen.
This changed when she learned the importance of collaboration and building healthy connections.
The Class: service…
The day you stop learning, thats the day your death begins
